After being released by the New Orleans Saints in August, veteran NFL defensive back, and NFL Regional Combine pioneer, Chris Banjo sign with the Arizona Cardinals Wednesday.
Banjo ventured through the RC platform in 2012 and was able to begin his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, where he played for four seasons. In 2016, Banjo joined the New Orleans Saints til his release.
Banjo has been effective during his limited times with both of the clubs’ defensive units, however, he makes his money as a brilliant special teams talent.
Now, Banjo brings his talents to the desert.
“We’re going to evaluate how it goes this week during practice and in the game, but we like the production he’s had on special teams,” said Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury. “He can help us there, and we’ll take it from there.”
For his career, Banjo amassed 65 tackles, including two forced fumbles and three interceptions.
