Third Quarter Summary
-Let a spade be a spade, the Broncos wide receivers did not want to get hit. Clearly, Denver’s pass catchers were letting quarterback Peyton Manning down. Demaryius Thomas caught passes, but would not turn up the field.
-Thomas finally converted a first down on a 10-yard gain to the Seahawks’ 44-yard line with 6:22 in third quarter. The following play, Thomas appeared to have got his legs when he caught a 23-yard pass to get to Seattle’s 21-yard line, but he was stripped by cornerback Byron Maxwell and the Seahawks got their third turnover of the game with 5:57 remaining.
-Quarterback Russell Wilson was locked in when he took over from their 42-yard line. Six plays, 58-yards later, Wilson connected with wide receiver Jermaine Kearse for a 23-yard touchdown pass as five defenders missed on tackles to make it a 36-0 outing.
-In the final seconds of the third quarter, Thomas caught a 14-yard touchdown pass and receiver Wes Welker scored the two-point conversion to finish the quarter 36-8.
