Along with Jamar Chaney, Casey Matthews, Brian Rolle, Akeem Jordan, Greg Lloyd, Moise Fokou, and Keenan Clayton, Simmons will become the eighth player for the Eagles at the linebacker position.

The 6-3, 226 lbs. Swissville, PA native played four years at Kent State as a defensive end, accumulating 21.5 sacks, three shy of the school record.

Simmons, 23, earned second-team All-MAC accolades following his junior season in 2009 after leading the team with 8.5 sacks and 16 tackles for a loss.
