The Jacksonville Jaguars signed unrestricted free agent wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi to a deal Monday. According to the team’s press release, terms of the contract were undisclosed.
Massaquoi is entering his fifth NFL season after spending the last four years with the Cleveland Browns. He was a second-round draft pick of the Browns in the 2009 NFL Draft, the 50th selection overall.
The former University of Georgia standout has played in 54 games (43 starts) and totaled 118 receptions for 1,745 yards and seven touchdowns. Massaquoi, 26, has two career 100-yard receiving games and 17 receptions of 25-plus yards.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Massaquoi played in nine games for the Browns in 2012 with five starts and had 17 catches for 254 yards. The 6-2, 227-pound receiver produced a career-high 624 yards on 34 receptions as a rookie in 2009 with three touchdowns.
His cousin, Jonathan Massaquoi, is a defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons, who is a second year player from Troy.
