The former wide receiver turned defensive back Quinten Lawrence signed with the Miami Dolphins Thursday, according to the team’s press release.
The 27-years old sixth-round selection from the 2009 NFL Draft was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs. Lawrence saw action in six games as a wide receiver during his rookie year, including one start.
As a member of the Chiefs, the 6-0, 184 pound defensive back spent 14 weeks on the team’s practice squad before being activated to the 53-man roster for the final two weeks of the 2010 season and played in the AFC Wildcard Game as Kansas City hosted the Baltimore Ravens. Lawrence, a McNeese State graduated, contributed to the special teams as a return specialist as he registered 317 yards on 16 kickoff attempts.
Lawrence plays very aggressive at his new adopted position.
