New York Jets Goes Primetime Four Years Straight For Preseason Action

The NFL announced the New York Jets’ 2012 Preseason Wednesday, April 4, and for four consecutive seasons, the Jets will be featured in a nationally televised contest during exhibition play.  On this year’s menu, the Jets will host the NFL’s 2011 Offensive Rookie of the Year in quarterback Cam Newton and his Carolina Panthers.  According the team’s press release, the Jets’ scheduled times and some dates are not yet determined.

The Jets will ventured to Cincinnati to face the Bengals in Week 1 of the preseason and for Week 2, New York will have their home opener against the Super Bowl champions, New York Giants.

The Week 3 matchup against the Panthers will mark the 10th game out of the last 12 seasons that the Jets are scheduled to play one of their preseason games on national television.

The Jets will end their slate of preseason contests in Philadelphia against the Eagles.


The 2012 Jets’ preseason lineup follows as such, unless there are changes (Bold at home):

Week 1: at Cincinnati

Week 2: GIANTS at MetLife Stadium

Week 3: PANTHERS at MetLife Stadium

Week 4: at Philadelphia
