The Kansas City Chiefs announced that they have re-signed unrestricted free agent defensive back Travis Daniels.
Since 2009, Daniels appeared in 41 contests (two starts) for Chiefs and registered 47 tackles (28 solo) with three interceptions for 29 yards, eight passes defensed and two quarterback pressures. The 6-1, 195-pound Florida native contributed to special teams and recorded 12 tackles.
The seven year veteran originally was selected in the fourth round (104th overall) by the Miami Dolphins in the 2005 NFL Draft and, where he played for three seasons. Daniels had a season stint with the Cleveland Browns.
The former LSU Tiger tallied 173 tackles (121 solo), six interceptions for 60 yards, 27 passes defensed and one fumble recovery for his career. In additional, Daniels posted 17 special teams tackles.
On the same day Daniels was re-signed, the NFL released Chiefs’ 2012 Preseason schedule.
The Chiefs’ legendary tailgaters can get their grills fired up for the team’s preseason opener, as they will host their first game for exhibition play against the Arizona Cardinals at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kansas City’s second preseason contest will be the 2012 installment of the Governor’s Cup series when they journey to St. Louis to battle the Rams.
The Seattle Seahawks will head to Arrowhead Stadium for Week 3 of the preseason to combat against the Chiefs and for Week 4, the finale of exhibition play, Kansas City hit the road to Green Bay to face the Packers.
